Show Notes

In one of the most raw, honest and powerful episodes yet, Niki Sibera tells us about her harrowing childhood as she witnessed her father use physical violence against her mother on a regular basis. She realized that if she intervened, he would stop. But it would continue to happen until her and her mother finally escaped. The story gets even more traumatic, when her mother dies of cancer when she is just 14. Niki discusses how underlying trauma would lead to over-eating and a loss of direction and self worth. This is not, however, just about Niki's traumatic past, as with all of our episodes, we focus on the recovery, and the rise out of the darkness. With time and healing, Niki began to flourish. It's an incredible story of self discovery, and an uplifting and powerful message of triumph over trauma!!
